Make five threads. Connect all 25 squares in five threads of five words. Drag through neighbouring squares, or tap one at a time, moving across or down.

Find the expressions. Each neighbouring pair makes a familiar expression, in either order. Try one five-word thread on this small practice board:

Either order counts. TIE → BOW makes “bow tie”, just like BOW → TIE. You can trace a whole thread from either end.

Your fifth word checks the thread; a correct thread locks in its own colour.

Use every square once. There is one complete solution. Some expressions are red herrings: they work together but leave other squares stranded. Each unsuccessful five-word check adds one to the incorrect counter.

Change your mind. Tap an earlier selected word to shorten your thread. A new drag clears the current selection. Clear thread keeps completed threads; Undo steps back but keeps your check history. Reset starts this puzzle over.
